Pushing Back
Hawaii Kona Beach
Travel photography is great when you find locations like Hawaii. We ate at a restaurant across the street from this beautiful scene of waves crashing into the lava rock. We ordered our meal. I just had to go back to the car and get my camera. I stablized the camera on the lava rock wall in front of me. I love the colors of the ocean and the color of the ocean against the black lava rock. It seems only fitting to name this one Pushing Back - the waves trying to move the lava back from where it came from. I wanted a picture of flowing lava. Sadly there was not any during our trip. The latest flow was 35 years long and stopped in 2018. It took out 500 homes, 16 miles of streets and a small resort. The island grew by 900 acres during that event. I may have to go back when their is another eruption.
